From Technical to Tactical: HIV Prevention Options and Philanthropy

Grantmakers joined Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA) and AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC) for the first in a series of funder-only teleconferences focusing on the field of HIV/AIDS prevention science and the role of private philanthropy.
Mitchell Warren (AVAC) led a discussion with Jim Pickett (International Rectal Microbicides Advocates) and Dr. Sharon Hillier (Magee-Womens Hospital and Magee-Womens Research Institute) on the state of the world of vaginal and rectal microbicides. We discussed, as funders, what we need to know about developments in this field and how our grantmaking can make a difference in the field today.
