Navigating the Perfect Storm of Federal and State Budget Cuts, Reduced Foundation Giving, and Decreased Donations – Perspectives from Grantmakers and Community Based Organizations
Session 6: Wednesday, September 15: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Convened in partnership by the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) and FCAA, this workshop will focus on our shared experiences within the new economic paradigm: How are foundations and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) refocusing their efforts to achieve maximum impact in the fight against HIV and AIDS?
This 3-Part Session will include:
1. Introduction of recent philanthropic and non-profit trends;
2. A moderated panel discussion to explore the impact of the economy on the HIV/AIDS response at the local and national level, and review opportunities for innovation. Panelist organizations include: Bristol-Myers Squibb, National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Director, Human Rights Watch and the Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center; and,
3. Interactive skills-building sessions focused on cost-cutting and mission-building strategies to improve organizational effectiveness.
