Mobilizing Shared Interests

In September 2009 more than 120 grantmakers convened in Washington, D.C. for FCAA's inaugural Annual Gathering. The energy of our conversations in D.C. inspired us to create new "working groups" to help nurture collaboration among AIDS grantmakers. We are in the process of forming three groups focused on: domestic AIDS advocacy, international AIDS grantmaking, and the link between HIV and reproductive health and rights.

Working Groups meet by phone, and when possible, in-person to exchange ideas, priorities and to identify areas for collaboration and action. FCAA assists in convening these groups, and then in compiling and disseminating results and/or next steps broadly to our constituency.

What Philanthropy Should Know about the Global Health Initiative.  Co-hosted by FCAA and the Funders Network on Population, Reproductive Health and Rights, this funders-only briefing was a collaborative first step in monitoring U.S. Global Health Policy, and its impact on grantmakers and grantees.
