Take a closer look at the afternoon agenda:

When FCAA selected Oakland as the location of our next Spotlight event, we understood the critical need to leverage funder attention and resources toward the local epidemic. Just as importantly, we saw an opportunity to share and translate the Greater Bay Area’s best practices on HIV prevention, outreach and collaboration to communities around the world.

Oakland Mayor Ronald V. Dellums will join us to share the city’s vision for addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic and to introduce the following panels focused on local innovative programs and partnerships.

1:45 – 2:45 pm (PDT): A Study in Transformation: Oakland as a Model City
Moderated by Miguel Bustos, Levi Strauss Foundation, the distinguished panel will include:

  • Marsha Martin, Director, Get Screened Oakland
  • John Newsome, Vice President, U.S. HIV/AIDS Initiative, GBC
  • Gregory Edwards, Executive Director, Flowers Heritage Foundation
  • Ernesto De La Torre, Global Public Health Coordinator, Chevron
  • Steve Chase, Regional Manager, Walgreens

3:00 – 4:00 pm (PDT): Programming Innovations in the Greater Bay
