Please Complete 2007 Survey On World AIDS Day this year (December 1), FCAA will release the new edition of its landmark publication, U.S. Philanthropic Commitments for HIV/AIDS, reporting grant commitments, disbursements, and other foundation activities during calendar year 2007. We hope you will agree to participate, and we want to again thank the many organizations that have completed our surveys in years past.
The FCAA resource tracking report is the most accurate and thorough guide to HIV/AIDS-related private giving in the U.S. It is used by foundations, policy makers, NGOs, multilateral agencies, advocates, grant seekers, and the media looking for up-to-date information about trends in HIV/AIDS philanthropy by U.S.-based foundations. As in previous editions, our 2008 report will list the largest HIV/AIDS grantmakers; summarize overall HIV/AIDS grantmaking by private foundations, family foundations, corporate grantmakers, community foundations, and selected public charities in the U.S.; and provide comparative data, analysis, and funder profiles.
2005 & 2006 Data Released in September 2007 FCAA is pleased to announce the launch of its most recent resource tracking report. This year's report incorporates several new elements, including reporting of actual disbursements in addition to commitments in a given year; data for two years (2005 and 2006); and revised regional classifications to match broadly accepted definitions. U.S. Philanthropic Commitments for HIV/AIDS: 2005 & 2006 also features "sidebar" narratives on innovative grantmaking that cannot be reflected in the reported data, including Katrina-related HIV/AIDS giving, funding critical issues, collaborative funding alliances, foundations who did not make the "Top Funders" list, and in-kind giving. For a list of Top Funders and their websites, please click here. The following resources are listed in order to assist grantmakers and others in becoming and staying better informed about HIV/AIDS resource flows. This resource list is by no means exhaustive. Therefore, we encourage private funders, government officials, and others who may use this list to search for additional materials or organizations, especially at the local level domestically and in specific countries internationally, that may enhance your knowledge base and your work.
