WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN HIV FUNDER: LISA BOHMER

As part of our recently launched video series, we sat down with Lisa Bohmer of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation to ask an important question: What does it mean to be an HIV funder today?

As the epidemic continues to evolve, it’s more important than ever to explore this topic. With over 30 years of experience as a public health professional, Bohmer is uniquely qualified to weigh in. She leads the Hilton Foundation’s Young Children Affected by HIV and AIDS program, where she works with partners to improve early childhood development outcomes in East and Southern Africa. She is also a five-year member of FCAA’s board, and the Chair of the Coalition for Children Affected by AIDS.

Watch our latest video to hear what Bohmer had to say.

We also encourage you to read this recent article on the need she sees for increased focus and funding directed toward a particularly vulnerable population – young HIV affected mothers.

And please join the conversation! We want to hear what you think it means to be an HIV funder in our current environment. Let us know by using the hashtag #FundAIDSFight.
